Empowering Innovation: Abaco Introduces FMC300 for Cutting-Edge SDR and EW.
AMETEK Abaco Systems introduces the FMC300 Wideband Low Latency FMC Module, a game-changer in embedded computing. Tailored for Software Defined Radio (SDR), electronic warfare(EW), digital radar, and test & measurement applications, the FMC300 integrates high-performance Analog-to-Digital Conversion (ADC) and Digital-to-Analog Conversion (DAC) capabilities into a compact form factor based on the VITA 57.4 industry open standard.
Leveraging Analog Devices AD9082 and AD9081, the FMC300 delivers unmatched performance with multiple channels offering up to 12-bit 6 GSPS RF ADC and up to 16-bit 12 GSPS RF DAC through a JESD204B/C interface. This module is optimized for low-latency, high-sampling rate operations, empowering advanced SDR, EW, and Digital RF Memory (DRFM) systems and boasts an impressive 7GHz of usable analog bandwidth.
When paired with Abaco’s state-of-the-art FPGA carrier cards, such as the VP891 SOSA-Aligned Xilinx® Virtex™ UltraScale+™ FPGA carrier, the FMC300 gives customers the platform to solve the most difficult challenges when designing modern Digital Signal Processing (DSP) systems.
Simon Collins, Director of Product Management at Abaco Systems, remarked, “The FMC300 empowers customers to overcome the challenges of an evolving program requirements with its modular approach based on open standards in support of SOSA. By seamlessly integrating higher-performance ADC/DAC capabilities like the FMC300 without the need for a complete redesign, system architects can achieve unparalleled flexibility and efficiency”.
The FMC300 ensures optimal performance and adaptability with its flexible Control options for clock source, sampling frequency, and calibration. Equipped with individual calibration circuits for fine-tuning gain, offset, and phase, as well as advanced monitoring and power-down modes, this innovative module sets a new standard for embedded computing solutions.
