AMETEK PDS Unveils Rapid-Response Tactical Booster Amplifiers

Overcome battlefield communication delays with new fast-switching tactical booster amplifiers by AMETEK PDS, a leading supplier of components and systems for the aerospace and defense industry. The AR-FS-20 series of tactical booster amplifiers are designed to deliver fast switching communication capabilities with unmatched reliability and performance. Operating in the 225 to 450 MHz (AR-FS-20U) or 1250 to 2600 MHz (AR-FS-20LS) range, this new series of 20-watt amplifiers offer critical communication speed performance improvements for military and tactical operations supporting MANET and Integrated Tactical Network (ITN) systems.

Built with modern military requirements, the AR-FS-20 features fast transmit/receive (T/R) switching under two µs, ensuring seamless signal transmission with high-density packets. The fully automatic autosensing amplifier supports multiple modulation types, including AM, FM, PM, PWM, narrowband, wideband, OFDM, CDMA / WCDMA, and frequency-hopping waveforms, making it ideal for modern tactical radios. Applications include vehicles, drop kits, and airborne deployments. With automatic harmonic suppression and a high-duty cycle of 90% at 25°C, the unit guarantees robust and continuous performance in demanding environments.
